Whodunit (Second Attempt)
In regards to the previous whodunit attempt:
Having two people leave caused some complications, but there was stuff beyond that that I could have done better. It primarily had to do with evidence.
This will probably be a completely different whodunit rather than a restart (I have no issue with you guys recycling your previous characters).
If we're lucky, we might snag some people from Minegarde.
With a whodunit, there is a murder (or murders) and everyone has to find and put together evidence to figure out who is responsible.
The RPG will probably end once you all decide on who the killer is (or at least the vast majority of you).
Note that you might not actually pick the right person (but I wouldn't tell you until the RPG is completely over), so be careful.
It is very possible for you to die in this RPG.
You might be innocent, but you may be convicted as the murderer. (It is assumed the convicted goes to prison or is executed. It is assumed the police go with everyone's decision.)
The killer may target players. (An NPC will be the first to go though.)
These might be assumed, but to say them anyway;
The setting will probably be somewhere isolated from the outside world. Please don't try to escape, you'll likely ultimately fail.
Similarly, to whoever is convicted, expect any attempts at resistance to ultimately fail.
This will be free form, as in no real system. However, as the game master I am in control. When you search something, I tell you what you find, if you try to hide something I decide whether or not you succeed, etc. etc.
This will take place in the Monster Hunter world. However, this will have to do with detective like stuff, not hunting monsters and the like.
The first step is to get everyone's characters. (To those that were in the previous whodunit, I have no issues with you recycling your old characters.)
Please post here just to let everyone else know you're participating, but send me a private message for your character creation.
It is possible that I will add or change little things about your character. This is to make everything fit together, if you will. If there's something you really don't want, we can figure something out (shouldn't be an issue though).
These are some key things you should probably mention in your character profile.
Name
Gender
Age
Height
Race (Human, Felyne, Wyverian, ethnicity)
General Physique
Facial Details
Hair Details
Outstanding Features
Occupation
Potential hobbies or side jobs
Noteworthy items
Back story (childhood, midlife, recently)
With physical stuff, the more details the better.
Any age and race is fine.
Back story is important.
With items, I'm not going to be very strict. Chances are I'll let you take something even if you forgot to mention it, as long as it makes sense and is fair.
Being a monster hunter is fine, it can fit in, but other occupations like business men, actors, doctors, etc. etc. etc. have their place here. However, if you are a monster hunter, I'm gonna limit you to low rank.
Your occupation will warrant you some skills and knowledge. This is going to be very loose, as this is free form. There won't be any hard list.
No magic stuff.
When making your characters, throw a little dirt on them. A little bit of immorality, something that makes them not totally upstanding or innocent. They don't need to be overall bad people, but should be a little crooked in some way. Granted, you could crank it up if you like.
This should be something that's actually bad though, not "I steal because I'm poor" or "in a freak accident I killed my brother."
I'm going to need a killer. In your private message, tell me whether or not you'd like to be the killer (or volunteer). Obviously, this is a much riskier role.
Not everyone is going to be chosen, so you may want to hold off on making your character if that matters.
(In regards to the previous whodunit, the killer might be different, for a variety of reason.)
Also, just in general, I think it would be good if your characters has something they generally pursue. It doesn't have to be physical, but could be. It doesn't have to be immoral either.
Before anyone asks, I do not know the exact setting or who the victim will be, or any other details really. I'm waiting on your characters first.
If there's any questions, please ask.

I am definitely in. If it is ok with you, I will recycle my character. If you would like any changes to be made just let me know.

After much rage and gnashing of teeth, you can count me in as well. I'd like to recycle my character as well.

Re: Whodunit (Second Attempt)
To give an update;
One person from Minegarde is confirmed (SemajChaos). He's actually been on this website before.
There's one other guy (BizzarreCoyote), but I'm not optimistic about him joining.
Kibagami is basically confirmed, and probably reusing his character as well (I just want to be sure).
Once I hear from those two, I'll start putting everything together.

Re: Whodunit (Second Attempt)
Semaj has been here, but I don't remember him sticking around much.
BizzareCoyote used to be on a lot (hell, he used to be a moderator, if I remember right) but then he disappeared... Like Kinokashi... and Scout... and Adjectutor... and Katamar... and a slew of others. *sigh* Where the fuck did everybody go? At least they could have said goodbye first...
Hopefully everyone will stick around long enough for us to solve this motherfucker.

Re: Whodunit (Second Attempt)
So our players are Glyph, Star, Sunfish, Kibagami and Semaj. Five total.
Look out for private messages, as I'm going to start sending characters relations and stuff (like I did before).
I still gotta draw up the maps (the old ones had issues). But once that's done, we should be on our way.

Re: Whodunit (Second Attempt)
Okay, here are the house map and island map. They're not completely to scale.
There will probably be more as we progress (i.e. a more detailed room layout).
Technically, your characters wouldn't know the whole layouts, but this is just easier.
I'll (try to) post these every page in the main forum for convenience.
