Getting the Ball Rolling Empty Getting the Ball Rolling

Post by Adjectutor Tue Jul 08, 2014 11:09 am

Hey guys,

It's nice and all for Andras to message people in hopes of some big uprising on THG, but I doubt it will happen if those of us that decided to heed his call just sit here and wait.  We've got to try and create some of the livelihood that GoH had which drew so many in.

I'd like to figure out who is active at this moment in time.  Knowing who's actually around would certainly make me feel more in the loop again.

I'd like to start a new RPG on this forum seeing as Minegarde typically gets all of that action.  I may wait for db to return from his temporary absence (as stated on the other site), but that would definitely increase traffic here.

A reskinning of the website?  I am in no way trying to offend, but I do think that our forum looks a little plain and could do with some modifications.  I am also aware that people are busy and that it takes a little time, but I am willing to put my money where my mouth is and help with that as well if permitted.

It might be a good idea to create a section for arranging hunts together.  I will not be able to hunt with you guys in 3 Ultimate until potentially the fall when I start living with a friend who has a Wii U.  In the meantime, I can sometimes play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd via ad hoc party.

If you've got any friends you know that play Monster Hunter, drop them an invite.  I just posted a facebook status urging my fellow hunting buddies to check this place out.  Anything to get some good guys/gals to check the place out.

We could perhaps actually bring to life the clan idea that has been a buzz in the past 2 years or so.  It used to be a big thing on GoH, why not make a clan or two on this forum as well.  Perhaps we could even DO things with them.

Do you think of this as ambitious?  It probably is and chances are we probably won't be able to do all of these things even if you all really want to.  But setting the bar high is always a good thing.  If you end up reading this topic, I urge you to comment with some thoughts, retorts, and suggestions of your own.  Let's put some life back in the Gathering of Hunters base.

*EDIT - I guess this may belong in the Site Related section. Feel free to move it if you've got the power to do so and see said action fit.

Fyi, Maur has stated that he is trying to get some folks from up north on here as well. I aim to be active, as I feel that this is my baby. As far as how the forum's look I am pretty limited with what I can do at present. I may open it up for some folks to mess with eventually but php coding scares the shit out of me, hah.

I will of course make the effort to be active as well.  I can bring ideas to the table and start threads, but talking to yourself doesn't work in the long run.  We just need to get some dialogue going.

Also, I haven't used forumotion before, but I could try messing around with a test forum to see what I could do that might be worth transitioning over to this site.

Otherwise, I have a question that I imagine you could help with.
1.  What ever happened to Lady Divine and the old forum?  I was never really sure on that one.  I just know that it went under.

I'll leave the mibbit chat open in case you're around. Saves the trouble of playing post tag.

I aim to be active also. I don't mind being in a clan again. *cough* RED LIONS! *cough* but yeah I aim to be active as well. I'm going to post some stuff in reddit to get a vibe from it. I think once 4U hit we might be a rolling again. Yet that's over 6 months away....

Anyhoo I'm here. If you don't remember me I was the guy why called andras a girl the first day I met him. Got the ban hammer fairly quicky HAHA. I'm monologging again, but it's ok. At least we're active.

And done in the proper area, Good Lord that pompous Fatalis omg X_X
To be honest I am glad this is back because I just repurchased MHF-G and on PS-Vita this time so now there's chance of 3P but in the time of getting my sister caught up with us, I have to ask about it anyway.

White Fatalis is the only boss in Monster Hunter that I have never defeated yet, though I could sharply tell he is just about to actually die somehow. Timing of hunters gathering back up again has never been more perfect, looking forward to seeing this expand again btw. Let alone seeing you again too is good to know too.

Also, I may be able to join you for some Unite online sometime this week if you happen to have a PS3. Adhocparty will gives us some White Fatalis slaying time. I have a friend with a PS3 that I can visit pretty often.

Adhoc, a ps3, and a wired connection to the ps3 is all you need. Adj. I'll be glad to kill fata with you. He just happens to be my favorite elder dragon to kill.

To clarify further if need be, Adhoc Party is a program you can download for free in the Playstation Store on your PS3. Using that program, you can connect your PSP to an online Adhoc network that allows for you to play Monster Hunter with other people using Adhoc Party as if they were in the room with you. It also supports headset chat. I've used it before plenty, but sadly I don't own a PS3 myself so I can't use it anytime I want. I have a close friend that would most likely be willing to let me come and use his PS3 for a while in the name of Monster Hunter.

I used to have a maxed out HR 9 hunter in high school until my PSP got stolen. The backup file was also apparently corrupt. In the meantime I have managed to reach HR 6 on a gunlance main character in my new file of Unite. So I'd love to fight a White Fatalis if you guys have the means and the interest. We could arrange the site's first official hunting outing in a while. Goal: Slay some White Fatalis.

Just let me know when you might be available to do this. I should be available to do this anytime today after 5:00PM EST, as well as tomorrow night and possibly Saturday night.
