The Lion's Den
Welp, we knew this would surface eventually, so here it is. From the days of old, we had the 5 Lion's Dens as their own unit of members, essentially as separate clan's, but given that our member list took a hit with the loss of our old site I see no reason as to why the Lion's Den can't be a working unit now.
The old leaders were:
Red - Atlas
Blue - Apocalyptic Hobo
Green - Lady Divine
Yellow - Josh Pendharker
Black - Hispanic Panic
I have requested the missing individuals join us before, but have had no turn around from Divine, Panic or Josh. I could probably convince Panic to come back over, as we still communicate pretty regularly.
Any thoughts on the shape of things? Changes to be made, let me know.

Re: The Lion's Den
In respect to clans. Perhaps an update can be made to the names. I like the idea of having different Lion's dens, and the color idea wasn't too bad. But as long as they are separate clans, perhaps a leader should step up and come up with a new clan name unless it is running closely with another like a sub-division. I could think of something if needed, but I still don't entirely see the benefit of the clan at the moment and what the actual purpose of the clans would be.

Re: The Lion's Den
I like the idea of returning the Lion's Dens. While, as Adjectutor has pointed out, they served no real purpose once in one, I think they were a nice way to give newcomers a sense of belonging on the website. It was relatively simple for someone to pick a colour and join in on the fun.
Something to implement could be a little bit of roleplaying in relation to the games. Clan specific armour or weapons for example.
While I was never big on this stuff before, we could also implement them into the forum's general roleplaying. We could have a fictional Monster Hunter world where each Lion's Den acts as a Monster Hunter's Guild that compete with each other in various ways.

Re: The Lion's Den
It might make sense to consolidate the clans some. Five is a lot, the more there are the thinner spread they are. If I remember, only red and black were really still alive towards the end (probably just shot someone's pride).
A potential idea is changing from "Lion Den" to something else like "Dragon Den" or "Wolf Den," for the sake of new-ness. Lion Den might be just as well though, for nostalgia's sake.
Similarly, we could change from colors to titles with more meaning, or just stick with colors (simplicity can be nice). If each clan has a purpose, members might end up double dipping.
Possible idea is one clan is Dragon Den, another is Wolf Den, etc.

We could also use monster classes for names.

Re: The Lion's Den
Alright I've poked Atlas on the subject and he is still deliberating on it as well. I have to say I liked the Lions idea. It was unique and underutilized when compared to say wolves or dragons. That originality in itself was why I liked the Mongoose Den as well.
However, back on topic, one I dea was to use classifications for each hunter. This is a broad analysis of certain playstyles or weapon preferences. Now the easiest way to classify this is of course the in game guild card. As an example I have say 600 missions with dual blades, 300 with light bowguns, and then next maybe 60 or so with hammers. Well that shows I perfer hit and run tatics to stay out or under a wyverns range of attack. This might mean the title of Dervish is appropriate, or perhaps Guerilla.
Of course we haven't thought up concrete names so we might look out to our small if not growing community to help find the proper title.

Re: The Lion's Den
I consider the Lion's Den as being little more than a group for the remembrance of the days of old. I have no issue in utilizing it as a clan for the former Den members.
I'm liking the classification ideas. I have always been an aggressor/tank in just about whatever I play, I like to play the role of a tank, tried and true. My preference in MonHan has always been to brawl head on, and offer cover with a shield when available. (for those greedy tail carvers, haha)
With me being what I consider a mid/long range specialist with Gunlance being my choice of melee weapon, and Bows/Heavy Guns being long, what would you consider for that classification?
Gunlance Exemplar.

Re: The Lion's Den
I'm down to be in a clan again. Once we can get some traffic on here it'll be really good to get them rolling on again.
