Google+ or Skype weekly thingy.

I want to get some kind "meet and greet" thing going on here. Make it weekly, anyone can join and we just talk about whatever. Anyone interested? Oh and yes we can play games too.

Seeing this topic, I'd like to dust off this idea and suggest it again. We could put together a Skype Group. If people are interested in doing that, I could arrange that. I don't know how wise it would be to just post skype names on a public thread, so perhaps inbox them to myself or Andras if he sees and approves this idea. Having a skype group makes it easy to communicate and we could just open big Hunters Guild Group calls whenever.

Well, that's sorta defeated by the fact that most of us have a Skype contact box at the bottom of our posts

After reading over all the new posts that have popped up since I left again, it seems like activity has dipped a little since the end of July. Are people still around?

Indeed man, we're still here. It's quiet but I feel like the closer we are to 4, the more likely we are to have more familiar faces around again.

According to Wikipedia, North America can expect an early 2015 release date, so as long as we can hold out until then, I suppose...

Of course, by "we", I mean the opposite of the royal we, as I doubt I'll have a 3DS by the time the game comes out. While on the subject, I don't have a Wii U either, so I'm afraid I'll have to decline adding any kind of "Nintendo ID". Thank you, though, sir. As you may have gathered, I'm the same behind-the-times chump that I've always been.

According to the Collector's Edition release date, 4U is coming out at the end of March. I'm not sure if that's a placeholder or not, though.

Release dates are so malleable that the first half of 2015 is likely the most accurate estimate we'll get. I suppose there's some guarantee due to some iteration of 4 having already been released in Japan, but shit happens.

Yuri pretty much confirmed it as a placeholder. Hope it's close to that though.

Regardless, just bought myself and Kino a copy. Can't wait.

Collectors Edition preordered. Now if they could just do a MH version of the NEW 3DS. Wouldn't mind the second analog nub or being able to customize the device's appearance to my liking.

This is great, and I intend to join when I get back home.  But it may be worth making it's own thread in the Monster Hunter sub-section and possibly having it pinned.  I believe there is a way of making a discord channel accessible over the long term

Edit: According to a reddit post: "If you click on Instant Invite, and go to Advanced Settings, you can change the expire time to never. That link should never change." We could pin that long term for the site and make a few voice channels with varying permissions levels for troll-guard purposes.

Welp, I guess getting Discord is inevitable at this point anyway. I wonder when it will totally eclipse Skype.

It has already happened in my mind. Discord offers so many tools for group communication that makes it a major convenience. Perhaps video chat is the only obstacle that remains.
