Forum design changes
Trying to go with something a bit more streamlined, so there may be some changes over the next few days.
Re: Forum design changes
This blue and white is a little easier on the eyes than the black and gray, so that's good.
Reminiscent of Minegarde, but also different.
Might as well mention this, I was trying to unpin some topics in the RPG signup section. Couldn't figure it out though, and it says I'm still part of the RPGM group.
Figured I'd throw the issue your way.

Re: Forum design changes
Looks like you have to save it within the topic. There is an option to edit, and you can set a topic to normal/sticky/etc.
Re: Forum design changes
I'm still having trouble (I saw you unpinned them though).
Do you edit the original post?
I tried that, but couldn't find "sticky" or "pin" anywhere. I saw delete, move, merge and split, but no sticky.
I was probably the one that pinned them in the first place, so I don't think it would be an access thing...
It's not a big deal, but I'll probably lose sleep over it. :-P
Something that occurred to me that I figured I'd throw out there:
For the sake of drawing in traffic, would a name change be appropriate? I.e. something that has "monster hunter" in it directly, so when people search it is more likely to come up.
"The Monster Hunter Guild" came to mind. Or "Gathering of Monster Hunters." (It's funny to me that the original site was "monsterhunterfreedom2.com."
Maybe I'm misunderstanding how that all works though. And I know if would involve some work on your end (the banner).
Just a thought.

Re: Forum design changes
I'm kind of a sucker just for THG, but I think the title of Monster Hunter's Guild could work pretty well too.
So, when viewing a post there should be a little edit icon at the top right, if you click it it should give you the edit window and below all the post stuff there should be the option to check normal, sticky or pinned or whatever it's called. I don't think I am the only one with that ability.

Yeah, The Hunter's Guild rolled a little better, but TMHG is a little more specific. (If not for the brand name, 'Monster Hunter' isn't very specific either. Sounds like a horror thing.)
Saw you made the change though.
Yeah, I tried editing, but still couldn't find anything.
Below is a screen shot of what I see. Maybe you can point it out, correct me, or confirm I'm not crazy.
(Again, it's not a big deal, just nagging curiosity.)

I see the options now (and the administration panel at the very bottom). Did you change something?

I think the color change is a good step towards making things easier to look at. If I could personally recommend anything, it would be changing the color of unread posts to be a little higher contrast. Maybe I'm just colorblind, but I have a hard time telling which parts of the forum have threads I haven't seen.

Re: Forum design changes
Was the name changed as well? Gathering of Hunters was nice, but it sort of lacked that clear Monster Hunter reference.
It's funny, Monster Hunter's Guild is a steam group I made way back in 2008 that still has about 120 members. The site's already linked on the page but I might be able to shill to get more forum goers if need be.
I can also make logos and stuff if it's nothing overly complicated. I have a knack for Photoshop but not for being a good graphic designer.
