Frozen Hallucinations
Quest details:
Casualties in the Tundra
“…not in the mountains, it just… doesn’t make… sense.”
The last words recorded from a hunter who just recently made the first tier of high ranking status among the Loc Lac Tundra Outpost’s Guild. Three others were recovered as well, two deceased just outside of the base camp, and a battered hunter currently still in shock at LocLac’s infirmary, not expected to live more than a day or so. The quest was simple, take out a Great Baggi that had been pestering the guild at the aforementioned outpost. All we know is something went disastrously wrong, and haven’t identified the source of the recovered hunter’s injuries. Some were clearly victim to the Baggi’s hallucinogens, but the bite marks were much too big to be compared with the raptors found around those parts. We need for you to investigate this, and take out whatever is causing the problems. Do not hold back. The guild will supply ample supplies and munitions for you, and will deliver them on a daily basis. Best of luck, and Godspeed.
This mission is based in an offshoot of MH Tri’s Tundra region. It will be extremely cold, so keep this in mind. As mentioned, there will be a Great Baggi roaming the terrain, but a greater threat exists. As such, the recommended armors range from Yian Kut-Ku to anything below Gravios. Feel free to propose something with me other than the available armor/armor combos. Custom armor and weapons are also recommended and fully negotiable.
A note on character biographies: Your character is welcome to have a history, but it will not be included in the story. If you deem it necessary to talk about their history, that is fine. Player interaction is welcome and recommended, but any story your character may have will not influence anything relevant to this RP.
- Map Details:
Light gray - Represents low flat ground, covered in snow.
Blue - Represents a river flowing throughout the mountains. Icebergs of various sizes can be seen traveling down it.
Light Blue - Hard frozen lake water. Can be broken under major pressure.
Red - Base camp.
Brown - Massive ancient Wyverian crafted bridge.
White - General mountain terrain. Can be scaled, the more you travel through, the higher you go. The snow is thick here, some knee deep or greater.
Dark Gray - Caverns. Some of which require a little climbing or digging to enter and exit. The narrow points represent entrances.
- Base Camp, Supply Items and other Details:
- Here is a detailed description of area F-9, our base camp. It is a manmade cavern built into the centermost mountainside. This drop off locale lines a massive river, one who spawns some gargantuan icebergs over time. While safe enough for procuring fishes and fresh water, the river does pose a threat of hypothermia if submerged in. The valley where it lays is relatively secure from most creatures, save for smaller ones such as lynians and prey/aggi raptor variants. The cavern is ventilated from multiple chimneys, which are equipped with covers to prevent the weather from filling the inside. Sporting a stone covered fireplace in the back, it's chimney utilizes the same ventilation, though equipped with a damper to allow smoke out, whilst keeping heat in.
The cavern boasts 4 sturdy bunk beds with cheap mattresses, each with multiple blankets of varying thickness. The place is lighted primarily by oil lanterns, thus adding a greater need for ventilation so as to not harm the inhabitants. Lining the walls was a row of insulated barrels with various contents, water, juice, mead, hot and cold drink fluid, all with taps. Just outside of the entrance, an external cooler built partially underground for storage of meats and whatnot. Generally buried under snow, it is easily accessed. More beds and ore materials can be sent from the outpost with requests from carrier pigeons. Will be shipped out upon receiving, possibly in a days time.
The site also includes tools of all sorts, multiple shovels of varying styles, (spade, flat, wide, narrow) hatchet's and a splitting maul. Plenty of firewood, indoor and out, indoor needing to be refilled occasionally, the other covered in Bulldrome hide to keep dry. Fire starter, matches, and a large fire pit equipped with a double BBQ spit are implemented as well. A large table with kitchen utensils such as pots and pans and cheap flatware both wooden and simple iron ore, beverage kettles and canteens are provided.
Like most guild bases, the caverns include the standard Red and Blue supply chests, which will be refilled and retrieved upon signaling from carrier pigeons to the Loc Lac Tundra Outpost. As such there will be a large cage filled with carrier pigeons, and a large supply of birdfood. A Felyne will be stationed at the base camp at all times for upkeep, brought in with the hunters via airship.
The supply (blue) chest will include the following.
- Compasses
- Maps
- Clothes lines and pins.
- Stockpiles of rations (most dried/dehydrated), including nuts, fruits, flour & grains and various meats, etc.
- Whetstones (additional to what you have)
- Empty bottles for Hot/Cool drinks or other needs as you see fit
- 30 First Aid Meds (refilled upon request, may take some time to arrive)
- Thawing agents
- Casings & primers for ammo
- Surplus Ammo - Lvl 1 & 2 normal, pellet and pierce rounds supplied in 90 round bricks, Lvl 1 Crag rounds in 9 round bricks, and recovery, poison and stun ammo in 12 round bricks. Feel free to request more via carrier pigeon (advanced ammo, exhaust, slicing, etc)
- Fishing bait (various insects, artificial baits, etc)
- Fishing poles
- Fishing spears
- Fish traps
- Fishing line
- Pick axes/ice picks.
An airship will brings new supplies upon request via pigeon, and will collect any goods deemed necessary to send back to the outpost. The pilot is going to be a Wyverian man, one similar in stature to Kokoto/Pokke village elder. Two additional Felynes will accompany him for carrying the supplies onboard and offboard for assistance. I‘m thinking one similar to a Norwegian forest cat, and one a scruffy Persian.
I am not opposed to members bringing items, as long as they are reasonable. Post your ideas and I will approve or make suggestions. Full stacks of items, I will reject outright. A detailed list of existing supplies will be posted.
Mega Potions have been capped to 5.

Actually thats what i happened to have on my Portable 3rd character at the time. (Anything that could be worse than that doesn't even really need any kind of content rating.) At the very least, let's all just try and stay out of each other's digital pants... or mouth, or... Just forget I even said anything...(The true horror of which only occured after I remembered that there's only one bed...shudder)
Anyways, I figured that since school has been SO BORING for the past week or so, it probably wouldn't get much more difficult. For a while at least. And so I also figured that I would join this RP. There isn't really a reason for you to know that, but there it is.

Armor: Heavy robes which can be easily removed. These are warm, and fire resistant. Under this are small, ceramic extreme temperature resistant plates, forming a mesh that disperses impact. Under this is a layer of padding and cloth, which is also wrapped around the head. (Think Ninja hood.)
Bio: Despite what his equipment might suggest, Xereyeres Xexegen is not the kind of dark, brooding, mysterious type. (Is also not of asian race, (if those kinds of terms could be applied to Monster Hunter) and is of Irish descent) He loves to eat, and fights monsters for the pure sport. Also has an allegy to many kinds of drinking alcohol.

Well I'm only a Lylian with a gun, so you'll be doing more damage since you're a human with a big sword. You're also more durable, and a better distraction.

Sorry I've been gone so long. Been out of town.
Anyway, I will be editing the initial post and getting things started on here soon. I just have a few things to modify and add, specifically the map designed by DB, instead of using the existing MHTri tundra map, we will be using a new one which I consider to be a part of the existing one, just a different set location.
Items will be modified as well, and I need to confirm what all people are bringing.
