It's finally over...

US forces tracked down and killed Osama bin Laden in a small compound a little after 10:40 EST last night. No US forces were killed, though one helicopter went down due to mechanical failure (again, no fatalities).

I knew I shouldn't have made that Osama Bin Laden joke last night. Now what!?

I wonder if this is bigger news than the royal wedding.

Just under 10 years. He was found in a $1 million mansion (!!) in a Pakistani suburb. The mansion itself had no internet or phone line, and many of it's rooms had women and children. Bin Laden himself was killed and buried at sea earlier today.

The $50 million reward was split.

$25 million was split among the operatives involved in killing Bin Laden. The remaining $25 million was split amongst the troops that served and are still serving in Afghanistan.

I'm glad it happened, just so those families who lost loved ones in the attack got some kind of closure. What worries me is the potential repercussions. Honestly, I'm sick of hearing about it now though.

Yeah, it's gotten a bit ridiculous. Yeah, it's cool we got the bastard, but now we have to cool off a bit.

...even though I will admit that yesterday I was happy as all hell.
