@Star: I think I'm waiting on you at the moment.

@Blaster: Where was Edo's armor again?
If we can't remember, shall we just say the roof? Or you could specify some other location.

-

"I would think so." Ortay said to Edo, having easily overheard him. "Switching from a Felyne light to a human heavy seems like quite the transition."

More of the search parties began returning, bringing more Aptonoth and wagons.
The green Felyne returned alone, and perched himself on top of the hunter's lodging.
Totoro and Wells returned a little after.

~

After walking along the inner fence of the field, Wells came across Felric headed his way.
"There ain't nothin'." The green Felyne announced with a grump from atop the tall barn roof. Without another word, he started back to the center of town, rushing ahead.

A rock with a note tied to it was tossed down from the airship. It basically said that the airship was going to remain behind as precautionary watch over the area.

And so the two remaining Rulbo monster hunters followed their superior back to the center of town.

Some fraction of an hour, they arrived back at the Azure Rathalos corpse.
Other search parties had returned as well, some of which seemed to have retrieved Aptonoths, some of which must have fled when the Azure Rathalos attacked.
Cyra and David were chatting by the east side of the complex, and Edo and the white heavily armored shield bearer were chatting by the west. Felric was perched on the hunter's lodging roof.

ooc:@DB: I am so sorry, I thought I had posted.
---

Continuing her conversation with David, "Fire weapons are a great idea," Cyra replies, "I am not sure on how to design armor if indeed I can, I would want something suitable for Metke, for when it is time to go back. Any ideas on that one?" she asks him.

As they were chatting, Cyra notices the return of the other search parties and realizes that soon they will get to escort the people back to their homes. She feels good knowing that will make a lot of people happy.

@Star: No problem at all.

@Everyone: Just to clarify, usually the monster hunter gives the smith a basic idea of what they're looking for, and the smith handles the specific details. Give or take, its very possible for the monster hunter to be more specific.
For example, Cyra might say where she wants lighter protection (webbing, hide) and where she wants thicker protection (shell), and the smith would make something accordingly.
Also, recycling old armor (Khezu in Cyra's case) and using it to build the new armor set is very possible.

If you ever wanted to be very creative, artistic, specific etc. about your armor, or make a hybrid, now is a good time. :-P
When you meet with the smith(s), he'll/they'll/I'll likely make little suggestions as needed.

-

"... All I can think of that would be good for the mountains is fire weapons, though better protection is always a good thing." David answered after a brief moment of though, looking back at the Rathalos.

ooc: I was wondering if that could be done with the armor, Thank you, also would it be possible to do the same thing with weapons?
---

"That is a good idea," Cyra replies to David, "Maybe I can layer over what I currently have, it would add protection and possibly a bit more insulation for the mountains."

While they continued to talk, Crya is watching the activity around them.

@Star: Yes, the same thing could/would be done with weapons, and any other thing (gadgets and whatnot).

@Everyone: Maybe just to clarify, when I said "recycle" old armor, I meant like take it apart to raw materials and use them. Not just put new armor over/into it (though that too would be possible, like David's idea with vambraces).

I'm not entirely sure how it will be carried out yet, but I think when the smith(s) meet with you, it will be one big meeting. That way everyone knows who wants what materials, can negotiate, and can share ideas with one another. The smith(s) will probably throw some ideas at you as well.

I'm kind of giving everyone a chance to post again.

-

"I wouldn't think any real insulation, though maybe they can make some kind of hand warmer like thing from the fluids inside." David pondered. "We'll have to ask them."

-
ooc:
I haven't really decided what the properties of the Rathalos' inner fluid(s) would be... One things for sure though, it'll be right out of my arse.

Crya was getting a little lost in thought thinking about all that David is telling her realizing that he is correct in that there would really be no real insulation offered from layering. She would just have to wait until they got to talk to the smiths to figure out what to do.

"That is a good idea with the fluids though," she replies to David.

"After we get the people back into their homes, I wonder what they will have us do?" she wonders out loud.

"Perhaps improve the rest of your equipment as well. Speaking of which, where is the rest of your equipment?" Ortay continued to converse.

~

"I'm not sure. Maybe help with clean up."

"Cleaning up" monsters was something any hunter was familiar and okay with, but "cleaning up" humans was a level of hell. Most hunters were familiar with that too, unfortunately.

At that thought, Crya felt saddened inside, not at the work, that was something she was used to and fine with, but the thought of all of the people that would need to be taken care of was a depressing thought. One that she would treat with the respect due them.

"Yes, that does need to be done, doesn't it." she replied a bit more soberly now.

Edo looked over to the roof of the guild, "Over there, nya."

ooc: I'll probably be fusing Edo's Alloy with Rathalos Material to make a armor. It would look like Tri's armor. It would be the normal design, too, not the felyne design.
He'll also probably fuse with the gun, too. keep the base design, add the spinning barrel, make the string webbing.
The bow will likely be enhanced as well, if there are enough left over from the armor and possibly the gun. Edo will take a small amount, to leave the most for everyone else. Probably just enough to enhance his armor.

"I just hope Pelleas and Mon'Hun aren't among the bodies. I doubt they would be, but I wonder where they are then."

~

Edo saw the Melynx from earlier wearing his helmet, looking down on him with a wide smile.

"... Is that Melynx wearing your helmet?" Ortay asked, a little bit of concern in his voice.

-
ooc:
@Blaster: >:3

@Star: Pelleas and Mon'Hun are the high rank monster hunters designated to Metke and Sontruma respectively. See the sign up thread to refresh yourself if needed.
You'd be more familiar with Pelleas, as would David. At least, as much as you can be with someone like him.

@Everyone: Just so you know, people often suspect Melynx of thievery. It's a common way of thinking. It's sort of like racism, except there's a legitimate reason behind it because Melynx often DO steal stuff.
Of coarse, there are plenty of Melynx that do not steal.
Thief Melynx often have a bunch of hideouts throughout whatever town though, like a crime syndicate sort of.

"Hello, easily provoked." The Melynx greeted Edo when Edo arrived at the rooftop. He just stood there facing Edo, smiling as usual.

The green Felyne happened to be at the north side of the building, seeming to be patrolling its perimeter counter clockwise. He glanced at the two fellow Lynian, but seemed to disregard them.
(Edo and Jordan were at the southwest corner.)

~

"Mmm..." David didn't have anything to say. During the lull of conversation he took another swig of cool drink.

"Nyargh! Give me back my helmet, nyargh!!!" Edo said aggresively as he jumped to Jordan, trying to pin him to the ground. If and when he pins Jordan to the ground, he'll take his helmet back. He'd then put it on, just for good measures. After that, he'll put on his armor, and sheath his other weapons, too.

@Sunfish: Just to clarify (you probably got left behind again), Felric would be walking around the perimeter of the building (counter clockwise).
If you didn't see, Edo is tackling a Melynx at the southwest corner.

@Everyone: We'll try to give Rekee one more day to post.

-

The Melynx didn't resist when Edo pinned him down. The smile didn't leave his face. "You could have just asked for your helmet, nya. I was only trying it on." He joked as he stood back up.

Felric's response was delayed. "Nya, there's lotsa diff'rent stuff fr'm the otha towns."

Elram came out of the hunter's lodging, followed by his public speaking voice (the big, loud, heavy bowgunner). "There's just one more search party we're waiting on before we start getting people back to their homes." He said to David and Cyra.

ooc:
In regards to how monster hunters usually get their pay;
There's, of coarse, the larger quests that get them large amounts of money, but those quests are less common.
Then there's smaller quests (routing lesser monsters).
Then there's like grunt work (patrol, escorting a quest wagon (as seen in Maskata)).

Of coarse, they can do other stuff too. As to what this other stuff is, like "what's there to do around here," I'm kind of weak on that aspect.
If you throw an idea at me, we can make something happen.

I would think hunters would spend a lot of time conditioning, working out, and training too.

-

"That Blue Kut Ku's still out there." Felric corrected.

Jordan hasn't done anything to the rest of Edo's equipment. It was as he left it.

The heavy, white armored shield bearer monster hunter peaked at the roof of the hunter's lodging building from the ladder (he climbed), just making sure everything was okay.

Cyra noticed a group of hunters and guild knights coming from the direction of the police station. They were carrying a bunch of empty body bags.
Wagons were being organized as well.
"How are we doing this escort?" David asked Elram.
"The hunters will spread out individually and go ahead of the civilians as they return home. Once everyone's home, well, that will be it. We'll ask for volunteers to assist with collecting the bodies, and anything else that needs doing."
"That balloon is going to be a bitch to get out." The heavy bowgunner commented, looking over at the observation balloon stuck in the roof of the guild warehouse.

As Cyra saw the hunters and knights with the body bags it was brought home to her once again the sad fact of how many had lost their lives in this.

She turns to Elram, "I will help with the collecting of the bodies, it is the least I can do for them at this point," Cyra volunteers solemnly.

Rekee said to bot him if needed, and that December is a busy month for him. So yeah.
Speak of the devil. Posted as I did.

@Rekee: If I had to rewrite my post around yours, I would have eaten your post.

-

"Ny'o." Felric replied. "I bet its foun' fast an' dealt with fast'a. Guild don' wanna monst'a so fricken close."

"I see." Ortay acknowledged neutrally before climbing back down the latter.

"Thank you." Elram said to Cyra.

The remaining search party eventually returned, bringing with it multiple wagons and Aptonoths (possibly why it was the last to arrive). It brought a small crowd of civilians with it as well (as other search parties seemed to have done), including some wounded. The wounded were tenderly carried into the gathering hall/makeshift emergency room.

"Alright, call everyone." Elram said to his over-sized shadow.
"We need to find a horn or something." The big hunter commented before cupping his hands. "ALL AVAILABLE HUNTERS, ALL CIVILIANS..." He didn't bother to complete the statement, everyone knew what was going on.

Elram motioned the group to follow him as he went towards one of the wagons. He climbed the small ladder on the side, followed by the tall hunter, whom apparently were using the wagon as a stage to call attention onto themselves.
Monster hunters gathered round, as did civilians who poured out of the complex buildings. Elram was saying something to his shadow, though whatever it was couldn't be heard over the noise of the civilians.

Once about everyone was outside and around the stage, Elram waved his hands down, a sign to be quiet. He wasn't smiling as he was before.
As instructed, everyone fell silent.

"All of the monsters in the town's borders have been slain." The big hunter started, which brought a wave of cheer and applause. Elram waved it down into silence again after a few moments. "Monster hunters will individually spread out and go to the town's borders in all directions. Civilians will follow behind them approximately a block behind, and will return home. Those who wish to stay for supplies are welcome to.

The guild will begin attending to the fallen immediately. Volunteers are appreciated, accompany a wagon if you wish to do so, and follow the guild knights' instructions. Hunters, finish your final patrol before doing so."

The large hunter stepped back and looked down at Elram, who stepped forward. Everyone was truly silent to listen. He took a breath, "...Words cannot describe what we've gone through these past few days... Throughout my entire extended life I've never heard of, let alone witnessed, a more tragic incident." He swallowed, and his eyes seemed to be tearing up. "And I can't help but feel responsible..." He took a breath again, "The guild will offer what condolences it can manage for what was lost, but I know that is not nearly enough for most. And though I know no amount of money can bring back those who fell, I will work with the guild to further compensate all that I can offer." His lip quivered and tears ran from his eyes. "That is all." He uttered weakly.

She was hoping to be able to get the people back to their homes and then get back to the town so she could keep her word and help with the fallen.
