Going into the tunnel and seeing the split passage, Callie turned to the group. "Which way should we go?"

That video was entertaining. I can see lots of parallelism too.
Mecha-suits, narrow corridors (at least we can slip by one another), phony commander, flamethrower.

"Whichever seems better. Jason can take the front, squatting, while me and Dax take the sides." Jake said.

Ideally we'd be shooting over Jason, or at least past his sides. I figure its best to have the flamethrower in front.
Jake and Dax would both be sideways I guess.

Jason glared dagger at Jake. "I say Right. It's my lucky side." He said. "I'll take the front, but I won't squat." He said, though waited to take the path.

Callie nodded at Jake.

"I'll bring up the rear then and keep watch for anything that might sneak up behind us."

OOC: You forgot the scrubs.

"I'm equipped with a short range motion detection system," the science officer chimed in, 'I'll be able to detect any kind of movement from around these corners, or above and below us." He paused as he opened his HUD menu, likely turning on the device. "I just hope we won't need to detect anything from the latter."

Can we even see expressions with our helmets on?

"Just get down if something comes up. It'll let us shoot easier." Jake said to Jason as they progressed down the hall.

The more Jason's in Jake and Dax's way, the harder it is for them to shoot at enemies past him (if the torch isn't enough), and/or not shoot Jason by mistake. Getting down (squatting) would help with this.

"Alright Jason, just don't blame us if you get eaten alive." Dax followed Jake and took his position in the formation.

OOC: You can't read anyone's expression if they're wearing a helmet, and even body language would be difficult because of the bulky nature of the suit. Also, nobody said which way you're going.

Nothing stirred in the corridor, aside from the group. Every heavy footfall of an LPA brought up a diminuitive storm of rust colored dust, small particles of which frequently drifted in front of the collective lights of the team, like a freakish snowfall. Occasionally, the creaking of metal could be heard far in the distance, and a large tremor shook the tunnel. Thankfully it showed no signs of structural damage or weakness.

As the team neared the intersection, the science officer stopped. "Wait!" his voice came in over the inter-suit communications system, "I'm detecting movement." He paused, studying the device readout on his HUD. "Two indivuals, moving away from us, about 15 yards to the north-west." The two soldiers that were accompanying the team dropped into a crouch and raised their weapons, scanning (They're covering the rear).

"How fast are they moving? Are there any other contacts?" Dax asked.

Callie stopped and stayed silent, watching around her expecting the worst. She had her gun up and ready just in case.

Jason slowly crouched and procceded in the direction, with his flamethrower ready to roast should the two figures prove to be hostile.

In any case, I suppose we'd whichever direction brings us closer to those two things.

Jake waited for the group to keep moving, gun aimed ahead but his finger away from the trigger.

"Only two, moving no faster than a walk." He waited again, still reading the device. Despite the almost palpable tension in the room, he was calm, or was doing well to mask any panic. "They've either stopped moving, or are out of range."

"Well, I vote we go after them, even if they're not safe." Jake said, suspecting these two things could very well be a threat.

"I second that idea. But lets hurry. I don't like staying in one place" Dax urged them on.

Jason nodded, continuing along in his croutching position. Once they were within earshot of the two peope/things, he said, "Freeze! Identify yourself or become burnt ash!"

Callie was in full agreement with the rest and followed along. Staying at the ready should the need arise.

Dax aimed down his AK's sights in the direction of the life forms. He wished that Jason hadn't made thier presence known quite so loudly.

As soon as the group began to push towards the two readings, they quickly went off radar. "They're gone," the science officer stated, almost matter-of-factly. "Moving as a formation isn't exactly my area of expertise, does anyone know what our next move should be?"

Remembering that Jake was in the military, Callie turns to him. "Do you have any ideas on how we might proceed?"

Jason wondered where they went. "What way did they go before they were off the radar?" He asked, still crouching with flamethrower ready.

I'm usually one to lead when necessary, but I figure Jake is used to taking orders rather than giving them. Trying to play the role to some degree.

Liking Jason's logic, Jake looked at the science officer for his response.

Dex kept his rifle trained down the dark hallway.

OOC: Computer magically fixed itself. Right now, the group is located near the intersection, and anyone at the front can see a little ways down either hallway. The walls are rough concrete, with a few pipes and wiring every once in a while, like a bunker.

"I don't know," he said in response. "Either this equipment is failing, or they've simply vanished."

Jason was glad no one could see his paling face, "****! Prepare for attack!" He shouted, holding his flamethrower up, "Zombies would be cold, because they aren't among the living! They turned into Zombeis!"

Jake certainly was no scientist, but he doubted Jason's reasoning about heat and zombies.

"Keep it together, freaking out's not gonna help." He said, turning forward again. "Let's keep going, to the right." He motioned to the right.

Not sure what to believe, Callie follows after Jake. She would rather be moving and doing than not.

All hell broke loose in the small confines of the hallway. From the rear of the group, something crashed, and the tunnel seemed to collapse into itself, taking one of the poor dumb scrubs into a cloud of dust and rubble. The impact of the breaking concrete sent a shockwave that could be felt through the feet of anyone standing in the hall. Broken concrete scattered throughout the passage, and the other nameless fool was sent sprawling, landing on his back several feet from where he had been standing before. What the hell was going on was anyone's guess, the noise from the collapse was deafening, and the debris and dust severely limited debris.

"Well, that's just lovely." Jason said. "So, now how will we get out of here?" Jason seemed strangely calm.
