I will do most of the rolling, while you guys will guess #'s when I need you to. Most of the actions will just be a simple guess and depending on how close you are to the # I roll, that will determine the outcome of what you are doing. There will also be modifiers too.

Person 1 and 2 were walking through an abandoned settlement when they encountered some bandits. First of all, everyone takes an initiative check.

Person 1: 15
Person 2: 6
Bandit 1: 8
Bandit 2: 3
Bandit 3: 19

I roll a 6, so the order is as follows.

Person 2: 1st
Bandit 1: 2nd
Bandit 2: 3rd
Person 1: 4th
Bandit 3: 5th

In combat, everyone will take turns. When it is your turn, you may take a total of 1 full action. Some actions may be a full, half, or even smaller action. I suppose that you could do nothing as well (Doing nothing will NOT give you more actions on your next turn). Forgeting about the majority of modifiers such as skills, armor, and weapon quality, here is some of the combat. (Also, there would probably be a grid with a map on it for reference). Also for this section, I'll add a hit table.

>5 off: No hit
5-4 off: glancing hit
2-3 off: solid hit
1-0 off: critical hit

Person 2: "I draw my weapon, and fire at the first bandit(14)." (Draw weapon: half action, Quick fire: half action).
Glyph: (19-14=5 (0.5)x(#(7)) 3 damage) [NOTE: In game, I won't be showing you how much health or exactly how much damage an enemy takes. Instead, I'll write it out more eloquently. Also, had it been a solid hit, I would have checked for shock, limb or organ damage, etc...] "The shot grazes your opponent, and although he winces from the pain, it is nothing more than a flesh wound."

This would continue until 1 party or the other dies, in which case looting can begin. Questions?

Sorry for not putting up any new info, I've been busy. Before we start, I also need you to fill this in:
4 basic stats:
Stamina: (Overall health, modifies checks for shock, damage, etc...)
Agility: (Overall speed, modifies initiative, etc...)
Endurance: (Overall strength, modifies carrying capacity, etc...)
Awareness: (Overall alertness, modifies awareness checks, etc...)

After some thought, we won't be using anything after stats, that would be too complicated.

What's our limit for stats? Do we get like a few points, and each of the stats has a few levels?

50 points total, 10 is an average.

Stamina: 10
Agility: 16
Endurance: 8
Awareness: 16

I suppose I should ask, what would be the cap of each stat, if any?

Agility: 14
Endurance: 14
Awareness: 10

There isn't a limit, every two points add a +1 modifier. Every level you gain will give you a single point to spend.

ALSO, what is everyone's opinion on using chat for an RP? Or at least part of it?

If you mean for this RPG, I think it will be very hard to make the chat work for it. Getting everyone together at the same time, namely.

If you mean just a quickie RPG over the chat, me and two other people have done that before. It's pretty fun, actually.

I see Coyote and Kino on there fairly often, and Andras occasionally.
You could drop in some time and see who's there. We might get something going.

We could archive any chat RPG's after, just for the hell of it.

Huh, I actually get on every couple of days, but there is never anybody on, or they're AFK. And I think chat RPing might not work for this RP, but it would be good for other quick RP's in the future...

I think chat RP'ing is best for fairly quick RPG's, like one shots.

A 10 with a stat is "average." There's no limit as to how high a stat can go.
